A letter from Erin Duncan, Director of the Phono-Graphix Reading Company
May 16, 2014

If you have read the letter sent today from Carmen McGuinness, you know that as of May 16, 2014, I have taken over day-to-day operations of the Phono-Graphix Reading Company.
Many of you know me, and know that I have been a devoted Phono-Graphix Therapist and Trainer since 1998, taking very seriously the mission of carrying Phono-Graphix into classrooms and clinics. The professional organization has made profound strides for literacy in those sixteen years. In 2006, I took over the clinical aspect of the Phono-Graphix Reading Company, to free the McGuinnesses to pursue their mission with the developmentally disabled.
Today, as I look ahead, I feel deeply honored by Carmen's confidence in my ability to carry on operations, putting me fully at the helm. I do not take lightly my commission to ensure that Phono-Graphix and the thousands of dedicated Phono-Graphix practitioners have what they need carry on our mission. I feel intense gratitude for your continued dedication to Phono-Graphix and to the children waiting for the help they so need and deserve. I cannot contain my excitement at our potential.
As we complete this transition, your patience and understanding will be met with heartfelt appreciation. Carmen will be heavily involved in this process, and in addition will remain in an advisory role as an official consultant for the foreseeable future.
I look forward to seeing many of you next month at the 2014 International Phono-Graphix Conference, which will be hosted at Chrysalis School, when we can look together at the future of literacy instruction and of the Phono-Graphix Reading Company.
As for the next paragraphs and next 20 years, those are ours to write together. Let's get to work!
Sincerely,
Erin Duncan
